Repair Cafe

Come along with any broken items for repair.

We normally offer repairs in:

Textiles (clothes etc), zips, ornaments, jewellery, metal, picture restoration, tools sharpening, electrical, mechanical, laptop and phone repairs. But do drop us an email to check who’s coming each month.

You’re also welcome to drop in just for a chat and you may even learn some repair skills too.

Oh and did we mention the tea and cake?

Everything’s free and we have a donations box and card reader

N.B. As we become more popular we may need to limit the number of repairs to two per person at busy times

Do get in touch if you want any general advice about your repairs – if we can’t help ourselves we may be able to signpost you to someone else

Testimonials from our users

‘I’ve got ten more years in this jacket now. I bought it 20 years ago in Bond Street – very expensive!’ Keith

‘Thank you for your time / skill / explanation’ Mike

‘My favourite jeans got fixed – you can barely see where they ripped.’

‘Fantastic, amazing repairs and good company’. Susan

“I’ve been chucking away expensive jeans which had developed holes as I didn’t know they could be mended. Now, not only are the holes fixed, I’m more knowledgeable on what’s possible to fix them myself in future.”

“Everything I brought along got fixed (including 3 clocks!), apart from one thing I need to buy a bolt for. Am really pleased.”

“Excellent service. Great for people living on own and elderly. Been here 3 times. Big thanks.”

“Thank you – I’m inspired. People are brilliant – so helpful, they’ve sorted out my clock and my phone and I’m so so grateful. Such a wonderful idea for the community.”

“I feel less inclined to throw things away now.”
