Did you know that you shouldn’t put any electronic items in your household waste and that all electronic items can be recycled? This even includes things such as childrens’ shoes with flashing lights and disposable vapes. In household waste anything electronic or containing batteries is a fire hazard.

What to do instead?

If it still works take it to a charity shop – Age UK on the Ranalagh Estate in New Road takes electronics. Cancer Research in Seaford does too.

The recycling site on New Road has an bin for electronics including one for pedestrians only.
B&Q has an electrical recycling chute you can put items in.
The items are taken apart for components to be reused or recycled
